Topics examined include the concept of culture; ethnographic research, its history, methods, and theory; language and communication; social identity, personality, and gender; subsistence patterns; economic systems; sex, marriage, and family; kinship and descent; grouping by age, common interest, and social status; political systems; religion and spirituality; the arts; and processes of cultural change.
