Distribution Logistics

Distribution logistics is about deciding how goods physically move from supply points to customers, and the course frames that as a layered optimization problem: where to put facilities (strategic), how to design the freight network (tactical), and how to route vehicles day-to-day (operational). You'll build location and routing models, work through long-haul network design and short-haul VRP variants, and apply them in case studies, a project, and paper presentations on recent literature. It's a capstone-flavored elective that pulls together the LP, IP, and network optimization machinery from earlier OR courses and points toward supply chain, transportation, and operations roles where these models actually run the business.
