IE 469 is about turning operations research models you've seen in theory into working decision tools inside the software practitioners actually use — Excel, Solver, and VBA. You'll move through six case studies and a build-your-own project, starting with spreadsheet fundamentals and pivot tables before layering on LP/IP via Solver, Monte Carlo and discrete-event simulation, and finally VBA macros, UserForms, and heuristics like nearest-neighbor for TSP. It sits downstream of the core OR sequence (IE 202/302) and serves as the bridge between formulating a model on paper and shipping something a non-technical manager can click through, which is most of what entry-level IE work actually looks like.
