Senior Design Studio I: Open Space Network

Senior studio where you take on a real city and design its open-space network — the parks, streets, plazas, and ecological corridors that stitch urban life together — treating it as a system shaped by topography, climate, demographics, and collective memory rather than a collection of isolated sites. The semester runs as one long project carried through site analysis, desk and panel critiques, a class jury, preliminary jury, midterm drawing, and a final jury, so most of your hours go to studio work and field study rather than lectures. It's the fifth studio in the Vertical Design Studio sequence, and it's where you prove you can move from concept and context into a coherent multi-scale proposal before LAUD 402 in the spring.
