Landscape Ecology Studio

Landscape Ecology Studio is where you stop treating "site" as a blank canvas and start reading it as a living system with ecological functions, histories, and politics that constrain what design can legitimately do. The semester runs as a studio cycle around a real site (Kırklareli this year), moving through three outcomes, Function, Vision, Action, supported by lectures, guest talks on landscape archaeology and heritage, field trips, and short conceptual tasks that push you to translate ecological theory into spatial decisions. As a Year 4 autumn studio, it's where the analytical tools from earlier ecology and representation courses converge into the kind of site-grounded, decolonial reading of landscape you'll be expected to defend in your graduation project.
