DeFi rebuilds the plumbing of finance — custody, lending, trading, market-making — on programmable rails instead of intermediaries, and this course pushes you to think about money as code rather than as institutions. You'll bridge the TradFi side (how exchanges, hedging, and ETFs actually work) with the on-chain side (smart contracts, AMMs, liquidity pools, tokenomics), and the bulk of the grade comes from a team project where you run a simulated crypto hedge fund, making real allocation and hedging calls. It sits late in the Management curriculum because it assumes you already understand markets and risk; what's new is the infrastructure, the regulatory grey zones, and learning to evaluate protocols rather than firms.
