Immunology here is about how the body distinguishes self from non-self at the molecular level — how innate sensors, B and T cell receptors, antigen presentation, and lymphocyte signaling come together as one regulated system, and what happens when that regulation breaks (autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, cancer). You'll work through Janeway chapter by chapter, write two essay exams plus a final, and present case studies that connect mechanism to actual disease. It builds on the cell biology and molecular genetics core of the MBG track and feeds directly into immunotherapy, cancer biology, and clinical research, so it's where the receptor-and-signaling machinery you've learned starts explaining real pathology.
