Symphony Orchestra VI

The sixth iteration of the ensemble requirement, where the work is less about learning new technique and more about functioning as a professional musician inside a section — listening across the stand, matching bowings or breath, and shaping a piece collectively over a semester of rehearsals. Depending on your major you land in the Youth Symphony, the chorus, or a mixed ensemble, working through repertoire from Baroque to contemporary toward a public final performance that doubles as the exam. By this point the course is less coursework than the through-line of your degree: the place where private practice and theory finally have to hold up in front of an audience.
