Seminar in Political Theory

This graduate seminar treats political theory as a living argument rather than a canon to memorize, working backward from Žižek through Irigaray to Marx to see how contemporary thinkers reframe the questions modernity left unresolved—democracy, difference, representation, the subject. You'll read primary texts closely each week, lead and respond to seminar discussion, and produce a substantial term paper alongside two presentation projects. It assumes you already know the classical tradition and gives you the conceptual vocabulary to position your own research within current theoretical debates.
