Clinical Psychology

Clinical psychology is where the science of abnormal behavior meets the practice of actually helping people, and this course walks you through how the field built its toolkit for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental disorders, plus the newer turn toward health psychology where the same lens gets applied to physical well-being. You'll work through two exams and a homework assignment grounded in Bernstein's textbook, covering everything from interviewing and psychological testing to psychodynamic, behavioral, and cognitive-behavioral therapies. Sitting in the spring of third year, it pulls together what you learned in abnormal psychology and assessment courses and gives you the practical framing you need before any clinical electives, internship work, or graduate applications.
