Psychological Testing and Measurement

Psychometrics is the engineering side of psychology: how do you actually quantify something as slippery as intelligence, personality, or a relationship's health, and how do you know the number means anything? You'll work through the machinery behind that question — reliability, validity, test construction — and see it applied in instruments like the WAIS, WISC, and standard personality inventories, alongside the legal and ethical constraints that govern their use. It's the measurement backbone that clinical, educational, and research psychology all sit on top of, so the course tends to matter more once you start reading actual studies or doing assessment work later in the program.
