Learning Theories and Practice

Learning isn't a single phenomenon, this course works through the major frameworks (behaviorist, social cognitive, information-processing, constructivist, developmental) and asks how each one actually changes what you do as a teacher. You'll read primary articles, present them, sit a midterm, and end with a microteaching session where you put your own theory of learning into practice. It's a foundational graduate education course: the vocabulary and lenses you build here are what later methods, assessment, and curriculum courses assume you already have when they talk about why a lesson works or fails.
