Media and Design Studio II

Building on the foundation laid in COMD 281, this studio takes you through the full arc of producing a short cinematographic work, from pre-production and crewing through shooting and post to a final gala screening. You'll spend the semester inside a working production office: developing a script, casting and rehearsing, running a shoot across multiple production phases, then cutting, scoring, and finishing the piece collaboratively. Assessment is almost entirely practical, anchored by a term project, studio work, and a skills-based midterm, so showing up prepared and contributing to the crew matters more than any exam. It's the semester where the conceptual vocabulary of digital image-making becomes an actual deliverable, and it sets up the more specialized production and post courses that follow in the upper years.
