Media and Design Studio IV

COMD 382 pushes the studio model past straightforward filmmaking into systems-based production, where you stop thinking of a piece as a fixed timeline and start treating it as loops, networks, and reactive components that can be reassembled live. The semester is built around two big projects: a generative loop piece that deconstructs linear narrative into modular video and audio-reactive assets, and a future-simulation installation that gets mapped, spatialized, and ultimately tested with real projectors and speakers in the studio. Picking up where COMD 381 left off, it's the point in the production sequence where you're expected to handle full pre-production through final cut on your own while engaging seriously with sound design, automation, and exhibition — the groundwork for thesis-level work and any installation or interactive media you'll do afterward.
