Sound Design I treats audio as a deliberate storytelling layer rather than a technical afterthought, focusing on how recorded and processed sound shapes the meaning of moving images. You work through three escalating projects in which you capture audio in the studio and on location, then edit, process, and mix it against picture, with a quiz and ongoing critique keeping the technical fundamentals honest. It is the entry point into the audio track of the COMD production sequence, giving you the recording and post-production literacy you will lean on whenever later film, video, or interactive work needs to sound like it belongs to its images.
