EDU 114 is less about learning science itself and more about learning how to teach it to children — you step back and look at what science *is* as a way of knowing, why it belongs in a primary classroom, and how a curious 8-year-old actually builds scientific thinking. The semester splits between lectures on the philosophy and history of science and hands-on lab sessions where you plan simple experiments, write worksheets and reports, and rehearse the role you'll play as the teacher in front of the bench. As an early required course in the Basic Education program, it sets the conceptual and practical groundwork for the methods and subject-specific science teaching courses that follow.
