Technical Report Writing and Presentation

ENG 401 is fundamentally about learning to communicate engineering work the way professionals actually do it: choosing a real technical topic, scoping it into a proposal, researching it, and then defending the result in writing and in front of an audience. You'll pick your own engineering subject early, take it through a proposal (with IEEE referencing, tables, and figures done properly) and a final report, give multiple presentations with peer and instructor feedback, and sit through interview-style sessions. It's a required junior-year course because the technical content from your department classes is only half the job, your senior project, internship reports, and most of your future career depend on being able to package that content clearly for someone who didn't do the work.
