The second half of a year-long sequence that takes you from basic paradigms to actually reading Attic prose, this course works straight through the back half of Athenaze (lessons 11-20), where the grammar gets serious: participles, conditionals, the subjunctive and optative, and the irregular verbs you have to know to handle real authors. Weekly homework and frequent quizzes keep the vocabulary and morphology drilled, while the midterm and final are translation-based, so the workload is steady rather than crammable. It assumes you survived Ancient Greek I and prepares you for reading unadapted Xenophon, Plato, or Herodotus in later seminars - essentially the language gate for anyone doing classical archaeology or philology seriously.
