Detailing Studio

Detailing Studio is where you stop drawing rooms as ideas and start drawing them as things that can actually be built — every floor-to-wall junction, every ceiling edge, every material transition has to resolve into a sheet a contractor could price and execute. You'll spend the semester producing working and application-scale drawings of finishing systems for floors, walls, and ceilings, building toward a sketch problem and a final jury that test whether your details hold up. Coming after the earlier construction and materials courses, this is the studio that turns that knowledge into the documentation skills you'll lean on in fourth-year graduation projects and in practice.
