Accounting is the language businesses use to track what they own, owe, and earn, and this course teaches you to read and write it fluently, from journal entries through the full cycle that produces income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You'll work through bookkeeping exercises, problem sets, and cases that move from recording merchandise transactions and valuing inventories to analyzing financial ratios and reasoning about managerial decisions. As an MBA core requirement, it gives non-finance managers the literacy to interpret financial reports and lays the groundwork for later electives in cost accounting, corporate finance, and managerial control.
