Production and Operations Management

Operations management is about turning strategy into the daily mechanics of how a firm actually delivers value — matching what you produce to what customers want, when they want it, without drowning in inventory or capacity slack. You'll work through process analysis, queueing and variability, quality, inventory models, and supply chain coordination, mostly via case studies from Cachon and Terwiesch plus quizzes and an open-book midterm and final. As an MBA-level required course it ties the quantitative side of your curriculum (statistics, optimization) to the strategic questions you've seen in management and finance, and it's the language you'll need anywhere operations decisions get made — manufacturing, services, consulting, or your own venture.
