Senior Project with Thesis

This is your capstone: you pick a research question in molecular biology or genetics, get matched with a faculty advisor or UNAM group leader, and spend the semester actually doing the science in their lab rather than reading about it in a textbook. After a few weeks of literature review and planning with your PI, you run experiments for most of the term and then write a formal thesis and defend it in an oral presentation. It's where everything from your earlier MBG coursework — molecular techniques, genetics, biochemistry — gets stitched together into one independent project, and it's the closest undergrad analogue to what graduate research will feel like if you continue on.
