Senior Project with Thesis

This is your capstone: you pick a research question in molecular biology or genetics, get matched with a faculty advisor or UNAM group leader, and spend the semester actually doing the science in their lab rather than reading about it in a textbook. After a few weeks of literature review and planning with your PI, you run experiments for most of the term and then write a formal thesis and defend it in an oral presentation. It's where everything from your earlier MBG coursework, molecular techniques, genetics, biochemistry, gets stitched together into one independent project, and it's the closest undergrad analogue to what graduate research will feel like if you continue on.
