Special Topics in Molecular Biology I

A graduate seminar course where you spend most Wednesdays listening to invited researchers from Bilkent, METU, Koç, Sabancı, and international institutes present their current work on things like RNA design, cancer genomics, chromatin regulation, and zebrafish disease models. The real skill being trained is reading primary literature critically and engaging with active researchers, which is why assessment leans on quizzes tied to each talk, a take-home midterm, and your participation in Q&A rather than traditional exams. It exists to plug incoming MBG graduate students into the regional research community early and to sharpen the habits—question-asking, abstract-writing, contextualizing unfamiliar data—you will need for your own thesis work.
