Ear Training for Non-Majors II

The second half of the non-majors ear training sequence shifts from single-line melodies into harmony, asking you to hear, notate, and sing the vertical structures underneath the music, triads, seventh chords and their inversions, and eventually chromatic motion outside the diatonic comfort zone. Weekly work alternates between written drills, two-part dictations with mixed rhythms and syncopation, and sight-singing in both treble and bass clef, with a growing emphasis on collective solfège where you hold your line against others. It builds directly on MSC 105 and is meant to give non-music students enough functional literacy to follow scores, sing in an ensemble, and survive later theory or performance electives without being lost when chords start moving.
