The Culture and Basics of Music Making focuses on the definitions, compositional techniques, performance practices and the structural materials of the music's foremost genres. The course offers a broad perspective that features an eclectic scope of distinct historical and cultural contexts in order to convey a core comprehension of the fundaments of music making process. Many different styles will be discussed including but not limited to: Classical Music, pop music, jazz, funk, electronic music, song, concerto, opera, madrigal, symphony, ballet.
