Singing Voice VII is the seventh-semester capstone of the applied vocal sequence, where the focus shifts from building technique to owning interpretation — making informed choices about style, phrasing, and expression in repertoire you've grown into over years of study. You'll prepare a progressively assigned set of pieces and perform them in three juried practical midterms plus a final, treating each work as a problem to be analyzed historically, musically, and technically before it's sung. Coming after Singing Voice I-VI, it expects you to already have the vocal mechanics in place; the real work here is designing your own practice and arriving at performances that sound like decisions, not defaults.
