Singing Voice VI

The sixth installment in the studio voice sequence, this course is fundamentally about deepening the artistic and technical command you began building in MSC 351, now applied to a more demanding repertoire. You will work one-on-one with your instructor on assigned pieces, internalizing the stylistic conventions, harmonic logic, and articulation choices that each composer and period demands, then proving that mastery in three practical midterms and a final recital-style jury. Sitting late in the conservatory track, it assumes you can already self-diagnose technical problems and design your own practice solutions, and it feeds directly into the increasingly independent performance work expected in your upper-year studio terms.
