Instrument VII is where applied study shifts from building technique to owning interpretation, you treat each piece as a stylistic and analytical problem, not just notes to learn. Most of the work happens in the practice room and your weekly studio lesson, preparing a progressively demanding repertoire list that gets assessed through two practical juries where you actually perform. By this point the assumption is that fundamentals are settled, so the focus is on diagnosing your own technical and musical issues and designing the practice that fixes them, which is the same self-directed musicianship Instrument VIII and your graduation recital will demand.
