Nanoscience and Nanotechnology I

A graduate-level entry point into the physics that takes over once you shrink systems down to where quantum effects, wave behavior, and surface-dominated statistics stop being corrections and start being the main story. You rebuild the toolkit from classical electromagnetism through quantum and statistical mechanics, then apply it to low-dimensional materials, nanoelectronic devices, photonics, and characterization tools, with regular homework, quizzes, and two midterms anchoring the math. It's the foundation course for MSN — useful if your undergrad physics is rusty or you're coming from chemistry, materials, or EE — and sets up the device- and fabrication-heavy follow-ons in the program.
