Language teaching lives or dies by its materials, and this course is about learning to make principled choices when the textbook isn't enough, when to adapt, when to scrap, when to build from scratch for a specific group of learners. You'll spend the semester critiquing existing materials and producing your own lesson plans and activities across three contexts (general English, content-based instruction with EGAP, and occupational English), documented in a running portfolio with periodic presentations. It's a core methods course in the TEFL MA: theory from earlier coursework gets cashed out here as classroom-ready artifacts you can defend.
