Event Management

The course treats events—conferences, conventions, and mega-events—as an economic sector with its own logistics, stakeholders, and destination-level consequences, training you to think like both an organizer and a venue. Most of your work happens in two halves: an Excel-driven budgeting case for a mid-sized convention that you'll defend on the midterm, and presentations where you dissect academic articles on event tourism or unpack real mega-event cases. It sits in the tourism management track as the operational counterpart to broader hospitality courses, useful if you're heading toward MICE, destination marketing, or any role where you need to cost out and pitch an event end-to-end.
