Voice and Speech IV

The fourth voice-and-speech installment pivots from technique-building to applied work, asking you to fold breath, resonance, and articulation into the demands of actual character work in the second-year acting studio. You'll spend the first half wrestling with Shakespeare and Early Modern monologues, where verse, scansion, and heightened language stress the instrument differently, before shifting to contemporary text, with midterms and a final built around performed monologues rather than written exams. Coming after THR 103/104 and 203, this is where vocal training stops being a standalone skill and starts serving the character, which is the bridge you need before the more autonomous studio work in year three.
