Voice and Speech IV

The fourth voice-and-speech installment pivots from technique-building to applied work, asking you to fold breath, resonance, and articulation into the demands of actual character work in the second-year acting studio. You'll spend the first half wrestling with Shakespeare and Early Modern monologues — where verse, scansion, and heightened language stress the instrument differently — before shifting to contemporary text, with midterms and a final built around performed monologues rather than written exams. Coming after THR 103/104 and 203, this is where vocal training stops being a standalone skill and starts serving the character, which is the bridge you need before the more autonomous studio work in year three.
