Architectural Design Studio III

Third-year studio is where architectural design stops being about isolated objects and starts engaging real urban complexity, you take a site through analysis, develop a conceptual masterplan, then resolve a building down to its vertical systems at 1:50, balancing program, sustainability, and tectonics along the way. The semester runs on three sequential design assignments punctuated by pin-ups, a midterm, a pre-jury, and a final jury, with most of your hours spent at the desk receiving one-on-one critics. It's the pivot point of the studio sequence: earlier years taught you to make space, and from here on the briefs only get denser.
