This is the hands-on counterpart to the analytical chemistry lecture sequence, where the abstract ideas behind instrumental methods become actual measurements you take, troubleshoot, and defend. Across the semester you rotate through roughly nine experiments covering potentiometry, chromatographic separations (ion exchange, TLC, GC), atomic and molecular spectroscopy, and electrophoresis, with weekly quizzes, written reports, and team-based bench work. It builds the practical instinct — sample prep, calibration, error analysis — that later courses in instrumental analysis and undergraduate research assume you already have.
