Principles of Organic Chemistry I

Organic chemistry is really the logic of how carbon-based molecules behave: once you understand why electrons move where they do, the seemingly endless reactions collapse into a small set of patterns you can predict. In CHEM 233 you work through that logic functional group by functional group — alkanes through carbonyls and amines — drawing mechanisms, pushing arrows, and tackling synthesis problems from Bruice, with quizzes and two midterms keeping you honest.
