Where CHEM 211 taught you the logic of wet-chemical analysis, this course shifts to the instruments that actually run in modern labs: electrodes, spectrometers, and chromatographs. You work through Skoog chapter by chapter, learning how a potentiometric cell, a UV-Vis or fluorescence setup, and a GC or HPLC column each turn a sample into a signal you can quantify, and why one method is chosen over another. The payoff shows up everywhere downstream — instrumental analysis, biochemistry, and any research lab where you need to know what's in a sample and how much.
