CI 604

Educational Statistics

CI 604 is a graduate-level course that teaches you to think statistically about educational research, moving from describing data to drawing defensible inferences about populations, and learning which procedure actually answers which question. The work is hands-on with SPSS: you analyze cases through three assignments, a midterm, and a research paper, building from z-scores and correlation up through multiple regression, ANOVA, factor analysis, and SEM. It's the methods backbone for anyone doing quantitative thesis work in education, since later coursework and your own studies will assume you can both run these analyses and read them critically in published research.
