COMD 103 is the studio foundation where you learn to actually make things look intentional, turning vague design ideas into finished print and digital pieces with real craft. You'll spend the semester moving between Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and Notion on weekly studio exercises, a midterm, and a final project that pulls typography, layout, photography, motion, and even AI-assisted work into one coherent visual language. As a first-semester requirement, it sets the technical and conceptual baseline every later COMD studio assumes you already have, so the goal isn't just learning software but building the eye and vocabulary you'll defend in critiques for the next four years.
