Visual Communication Design II

Building on the foundations from the fall semester, this studio pushes you to actually solve visual problems—composing with color, form, and type across photography, illustration, and graphic design, in both 2D and 3D. Most of your time goes into studio work: weekly exercises and reports feed into projects like a Dada collage, Avant-Garde and exhibition posters, a movie poster, and a social awareness piece, all collected into a final portfolio shown at an exhibition. It's where you start developing the visual vocabulary and critique-ready process that the rest of the COMD curriculum—page design, branding, and later studio courses—assumes you already have.
