Multimedia Journalism

Multimedia journalism is about how reporting actually works once the page stops being paper, when a story can be a tweet thread, a photo essay, a three-minute audio piece, or an interactive data visualization, and the reporter has to decide which form fits the truth they're trying to tell. You'll spend the semester running a real beat blog: pitching stories, going out with a phone or camera to gather sources and footage, and publishing photo-essays, audio slideshows, and short video pieces alongside written posts. It's a hands-on counterpart to the theory-heavier media courses in COMD, and the workflow you build here, research, capture, edit, publish, curate, is the baseline expected of anyone going into newsrooms, content teams, or digital communications today.
