Professional Communication

COMD 358 is the university's catch-all training in how to present yourself credibly in working life — treating written, spoken, and visual communication as one toolkit rather than three separate skills. You'll churn out the practical artifacts of a professional adult (resumes, cover letters, inquiry emails, meeting notes, elevator pitches, persuasive speeches) and run group projects that force you to tailor the same message to different audiences, grounded loosely in Beebe's text and communication theory like media richness and ethos/pathos/logos. It's a required service course for most Bilkent students, and its real payoff lands later — internship applications, interviews, and the first few years on the job, when how you write an email matters as much as what you actually know.
