This undergraduate course is part of the two-semester course (FA 171 and FA 172) which aims to develop a historical and critical knowledge on artistic and cultural production, focusing on the social function of art, modernism, post-modernism, the art institutions, and media studies. During the course, the students will develop an awareness of the visual environment in a theoretical and practical way by applying the concepts given in the lectures and the readings to visual material.

In order to qualify for the Final Exam, students need to have obtained a total of 30 points out of 60 points received from the Midterm, 3 Assignments, 1 Group Presentation, and 1 Term Paper and should have attended %70 of the course hours. Students who do not meet these requirements will receive an FZ grade. Students who do not attend the final jury will receive an FX grade.
