Design Graphics

Design Graphics teaches you to translate spatial ideas into the standard visual language architects and designers actually use to communicate, moving from freehand orthographic conventions to perspective and paraline drawings and eventually into CAD. Most of your time is spent at the board producing plans, sections, elevations, and renderings by hand, with two timed in-class drawing midterms testing whether you can deliver clean, readable work under pressure. As a spring requirement in the first year, it gives you the representational toolkit that every later studio assumes you already have, so the speed and clarity you build here directly shape how well you can present design ideas going forward.
