FA 202 picks up where the first studio left off and pushes you to turn raw design fundamentals into actual artworks that carry your own ideas, with imagination and concept doing as much work as technique. Expect to spend the semester cycling through projects in sculpture, ceramics, mosaic, and painting/printmaking — sketching, building maquettes, sitting through crits, and defending choices out loud, with a research paper and a final jury exhibition as the main checkpoints. It's the semester where studio work stops being exercises and starts becoming a personal practice, which is the foundation everything else in the FA curriculum builds on.
