Drawing III

Building on first-year foundations, this third drawing studio centers the human figure as the vehicle for sharpening observation, gesture, and expressive control. You'll spend most weeks at the easel working from live models and from memory, cycling through pencil, charcoal, and color charcoal, with a midterm and a final that are themselves drawing sessions rather than written exams. The point isn't to master a checklist of techniques but to develop the eye and hand needed for any later figurative or design work, plus the critical vocabulary to judge your own drawings and your peers'.
