This course treats banks and capital markets as the plumbing of the real economy, focusing on how financial intermediaries take on and manage risk rather than just listing the products they sell. You'll spend the semester reading actual bank financial statements, working through a case study on a real institution, and presenting a project that ties Turkish banking regulation to current market conditions. It builds on introductory finance by zooming in on the institutions side, and is the natural prerequisite mindset for anyone heading toward banking, risk management, or regulatory work after graduation.
