Introduction to Calculus I

This is the calculus track built for economics and management students, so the focus is less on rigorous proofs and more on using limits, derivatives, and optimization to reason about quantities that change — marginal cost, elasticity, profit-maximizing output. You'll spend the semester working through problem sets and two written exams, moving from algebra-of-functions warmups into derivatives and then into the curve-sketching and optimization arguments that justify the "set the derivative to zero" reflex. It's a Year 1 requirement that feeds directly into MATH 106 and serves as the analytic foundation for later economics, finance, and statistics courses, so getting fluent with derivatives here pays off for years.
