The standard freshman calculus course, built around the two ideas that drive most of later mathematics and physics: the derivative as a local rate of change and the integral as an accumulated total, tied together through limits and the Fundamental Theorem. You'll spend the semester working through Stewart problem sets, two midterms, weekly quizzes, and homework, drilling the mechanics of differentiation, optimization, and integration techniques until they become reflexive. It's the gateway requirement behind almost every science and engineering track at Bilkent, and MATH 102 picks up directly where it leaves off with sequences, series, and multivariable extensions.

Any student whose sum of Midterm 1 and Midterm 2 scores is less than 40 points (out of 200) earns an FZ grade and cannot enter the Final Exam.
