MBG 102 zooms in from organism-level biology to the cell as a working machine: how membranes sort traffic, how the cytoskeleton and signaling networks coordinate division and death, and what goes wrong in cancer — capped by an evolutionary frame for why any of it looks the way it does. You'll pair weekly Lodish chapters with a mandatory wet lab, plus reports, quizzes, and two midterms, so the molecular vocabulary you build here gets exercised at the bench. It's the spring half of the MBG freshman core and the foundation everything from genetics to cell signaling courses later assumes you already own.
