Building on Conducting I, this course pushes you from basic baton mechanics into the actual craft of leading an ensemble: shaping phrases with the expressive hand, planning rehearsals, managing soloists, and standing in front of a real string or classical orchestra without falling apart. Each week is a lecture plus individual performance, so you'll be conducting on your feet while sight-reading scores at the piano, with assessment built around applied work and a written-applied assignment. The point isn't just cleaner beat patterns — it's developing the score-reading, ear, and stage psychology that separate someone who waves a stick from someone an orchestra will actually follow.

Course is split into two formats: - Lecture: Knowledge, analysis and presentation. - Individual Lesson: Curriculum and exercises on repertoire. Requirements to meet to take the final exam are: To have attended to and participated in lectures and individual lessons. To have completed weekly written and applied assignments. To have presented a an essay/paper. Having received passing grades from assignments, presentation as well as the Midterm Performance and Project Assessment.
